Circolo Nautico Torino
Circolo Nautico Torino has been a non-profit sailing association on Lake Viverone at Punta Becco since 1965 and runs an FIV and CONI-registered sailing school. The site features a large pier, extensive lawns for dinghies, a nautical hall, veranda, bar-restaurant Piola del Circolo, showers, cabins and an accessible walkway with a wheelchair lift on the pier. Members benefit from internal parking, free club boats and courses on Optimist, Laser Bahia, Flying Junior and ILCA 7; an active Fireball community races regionally and nationally. Young people from age six, adults and school classes from Turin and Aosta take part in basic and advanced courses, summer weeks and social projects.
History
Circolo Nautico Torino was founded in 1965 as a non-profit sailing club to spread maritime culture and a love of sailing. Since then the club has become a fixture on Lake Viverone; the Punta Becco site at the southern lakeside promenade includes a large lawn with dozens of dinghies, a nautical hall, veranda, pier and storage areas. In 1967 the Italian Fireball Association was founded on these shores; the club's Fireball fleet remains active in regional and national regattas. The club's FIV sailing school is CONI-registered and has trained children, juniors and adults for decades. Several graduates now sail and race at national and international level. The club runs school outreach in Turin and Aosta and social sailing for people with disabilities. In 2019 an accessible water walkway was installed; a wheelchair lift is on the pier. The current board was elected on 30 November 2025 for the 2026–2028 term.
