Club Deportivo Náutico Nuevo Portil is a privately managed sports marina at the mouth of the Ría del Piedras in Cartaya (Huelva), awarded the Blue Flag and the only privately managed nautical club in the province with this distinction. It offers 450 berths from 7 to 14 metres with power, water and wifi, 24-hour marina service and security, office, harbour master's office, restaurant and wide manoeuvring lanes. The club promotes dinghy sailing, sport fishing and paddle surfing through its own schools for all ages, with specialised instructors and training, cultural and environmental activities. It organises sports and cultural events, regattas such as the Liga Snipe Huelva, fishing competitions and nautical baptisms, encouraging responsible nautical sport in a protected natural setting beside the Flecha del Rompido.
History
Club Deportivo Náutico Nuevo Portil has become a leading nautical reference at the mouth of the Ría del Piedras in Cartaya, next to the Flecha del Rompido natural area. The club operates a modern port with 450 berths for vessels from 7 to 14 metres, providing marina service, 24-hour camera security, power, water, wifi, office, harbour master's office and restaurant in a high ecological value environment. It has renewed the Blue Flag 2026, being the only privately managed nautical club in Huelva with this award, recognising its commitment to facility quality, environmental protection, safety and service excellence. The entity promotes federated sailing sport, leisure, competition and nautical culture on the Ría del Piedras, with sailing, fishing, kayak and paddle surf schools that received GALPA Huelva grants in 2024 to expand inclusive facilities. Activities include open-door sailing and kayak days, nautical baptisms with Cartaya Town Council, the VI Swim Crossing of the Ría del Piedras as a collaborating venue, fishing competitions, participation in the Liga Snipe Huelva and international paddle surf events. The club is a member of ACNA Andalucía and maintains an active environmental policy focused on sustainability and conservation of the Marismas del Río Piedras and Flecha del Rompido.
