Cruising Yachtclub Steiermark
Cruising Yachtclub Steiermark is a sailing club founded in 2009 with a focus on cruising and training across all Austrian navigation areas from FB 1 to FB 4. Club meetings take place monthly on the first Thursday at Gasthaus Johanneshof in Graz-Andritz, where office hours run from 18:30 to 19:30. Sailing theory is taught from autumn through spring, followed by practical training at sea in the Adriatic for newcomers and in the Solent and Plymouth in the English Channel for advanced sailors. Since 2011 the club has organised annual cruising trips to European waters from Scotland and Norway to the Baltic and Mediterranean; the planned 2026 area is Brandenburg-Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with a houseboat on Wolfsbruch. The club also offers sail and motor boat licence training with IC certification; the next FB 2 course is scheduled for October 2026. Crew evenings with travel presentations, spinnaker training and joint charter trips shape active club life.
