Cercle de la Voile Vevey - La Tour (CVVT)
Cercle de la Voile Vevey - La Tour is a long-established sailing club on Lake Geneva in La Tour-de-Peilz, combining club life, sailing school activities and regatta racing in one lakeside base between water and mountains. History
The club was founded in 1918 to promote water sports, coordinate nautical events and structure sailing practice in Vevey - La Tour-de-Peilz. In 1999, CVVT created a dedicated sailing school section, initially supported by club volunteers. From 2004 onward, the school was professionalized with certified instructors and coaches to meet rising demand and broaden the training offer. Today CVVT organizes around seven to eight regattas per year, including the well-known Regate des Vieux Bateaux. Junior and competition activity has grown steadily, with participation and results in Switzerland and abroad. The 2022 presidential report highlights notable national and world-level achievements, the arrival of new classes such as Waszp, and the central role of the sailing school in club life. Overall, the club's development reflects a continuous balance between convivial atmosphere, structured education, racing performance and local volunteer commitment on Lake Geneva.
