Amanda Sejl- og Motorbådsklub
Amanda Sejl- og Motorbådsklub is a sailing and motorboat club in Kerteminde on the east coast of the Danish island of Funen (Østfyn). The clubhouse sits in a prime location at Kerteminde Marina with views over the marina and the sea and is the natural meeting point for chats, lunches and club events. Members can also rent the clubhouse for private celebrations; communal meals, lectures and an active annual programme are part of club life. The 2025–2026 programme includes outings, harbour weekends and Midsummer evening on the terrace. Since its founding in 1977, the club has formed a community for sailors and motorboat owners in the region known as „Haven ved Havet“.
History
Motorbådklubben Amanda was founded on 3 May 1977 at a constitutive general meeting held at Tornøes Hotel. 22 people attended, of whom 17 joined as members that same evening. In the early years there was no permanent base: meetings took place at „Mødestedet“ and parties at varying venues, including Kerteminde Roklub. In 1983 Odense Staalskibsværft donated a shed from Guldkysten on Lindø. The building was moved at Easter 1983; selling guarantee certificates to members raised funds for renovation and furnishings. Since then the clubhouse has stood in a front-row location at Kerteminde Marina. At the general meeting on 27 October 2024, paragraph 6 of the statutes was amended: the annual ordinary general meeting is held in October or November. Today the club is a meeting place for sailing and motorboat enthusiasts with an activity programme, clubhouse hire and community life in Kerteminde.
