Aggertaler Segel-Club e.V.
Aggertaler Segel-Club e.V. is a traditional, non-profit sailing club on the Bigge reservoir (Biggesee) in the Sauerland region of North Rhine-Westphalia. The club grounds at Sonderner Talbrücke feature pontoons rebuilt in 2003 with 104 berths, a slipway and a clubhouse restaurant for members and guests. The youth section introduces children from the age of eight to sailing on Optimists and later offers 420 dinghies and ILCA 7 (Laser) boats with theory and race training. The club runs championships, season opening and closing events and welcomes guest sailors by arrangement. For more than forty years, members from a wide catchment around Lake Bigge have promoted sailing sport.
History
Aggertaler Segel-Club e.V. (ASC) is a traditional, non-profit sailing club on the Bigge reservoir in the Sauerland. For more than forty years its members have promoted sailing on Lake Bigge. Members come from a catchment of up to about 200 kilometres around the lake. In 2003 the club’s own pontoons were newly built; they provide 104 berths for dinghies, cabin cruisers and sports and racing boats of members and guests. The grounds with clubhouse restaurant shape club life before, during and after the sailing season. The youth section introduces children from age eight on Optimists; later 420 dinghies and Laser single-handers support sporting progress and racing. The club is registered in Cologne under number 600 471; the managing board consists of Martin Bärwolf and Jens Birkholz.
