History

Osterreiner Segelclub e.V. was founded on 17 June 1966 and looks back on more than 50 years of club history. Today the club has around 250 members, including many juniors. The OSC is committed to both regatta and cruising sailing and offers families with children an ideal environment for sailing sport and leisure on the water. The club site enjoys a prime location on the western shore of Lake Forggensee in a picturesque setting with magnificent views of the Ammergau Alps. More than 100 water berths and 20 land berths at a modern pontoon with 230 V power, an own clubhouse with terrace, lounge areas, kitchen and workshop, and thorough sail training for children and juniors shape the offering. A demanding events and regatta programme for active sailors includes keelboat regatta, Allgäu Opti League, club championship with club festival, Ladies Cup and single-handed regatta. Youth work with its own boat fleet, a youth week in the first week of the summer school holidays in August and regular weekend training is a central part of club life. Guests and seasonal berth holders can obtain berths; the water berth season typically runs from 1 June to 15 October.
