Nokian Veneilijät ry
Nokian Veneilijät ry is a Finnish boating club founded in 1978 and based in Nokia on Lake Pyhäjärvi and adjacent waters as far as Sastamala and Hämeenkyrö. The club operates the Vihola and Siuro harbours with many berths, the Ankkuri clubhouse and the Salomaja island base on Salonsaari. Its programme includes SPV boat inspections, skipper training courses, an active rowing section with the Nokian Soutu event, and family and youth activities. According to SPV statistics for 2025, the club is among Finland's three largest inland boating clubs and the largest club in its water area.
History
Nokian Veneilijät ry was founded on 11 April 1978 in Nokia as a rowing club; recreational boating was added later. Harbour Vihola has a longer history: in 1919 the Neptun company leased shore land for barge building; in 1930 Neptun was dissolved and the steamer Panu moved from Lake Näsijärvi to Lake Pyhäjärvi. Vihola then became a tug base; the last timber floating ended in September 1983 after more than 100 years. Afterwards Nokian Veneilijät took over the harbour for pleasure craft with support from Nokia Oy's management. In 1991 a 30-year lease with the City of Nokia followed; in 2019 it was extended by another 30 years until 2049. The harbour was largely built by volunteer work and is recognised as a Roope harbour. Today the club also runs Siuro harbour on Kulovesi and the Salomaja island base. The bylaws of 24 October 2023 confirm purpose, harbours, training and youth work.

Vihola harbour (Viholanranta 9 B) with 273 berths, 57 rowing-boat storage places, winter storage, slipway, wash area, septic emptying, power and drinking water; guarded harbour with lockable gates. Siuro harbour with about 50 berths. Ankkuri clubhouse (Viholanranta 9 A) with hall for 100 people, kitchen, terrace and sauna. Salomaja island base with saunas, barbecue shelter, pizza oven, pontoons, power and drinking water.
Activities
Boating training (Veneilijä and Venepäällikkö courses), annual boat inspections, rowing section with Nokian Soutu, club events (flag raising/lowering, Midsummer, Tömäys, Muksumellakka), volleyball, work parties and the Roope harbour environmental programme.
Youth section
Youth and family activities under the bylaws; Muksumellakka children's day at Salomaja, Optimist dinghy and a working group for family friendliness at the island base.
