Nakskov Sejlklub
Nakskov Sejlklub is the official sailing club of Nakskov on Lolland and, together with Hestehoved Lystbådehavn, runs a harbour on Nakskov Fjord. The club promotes water sports through racing, motorboating and social gatherings and has a clubhouse at the harbour entrance as well as another clubhouse on Albuen. Facilities include a new floating pontoon for the kayak section, guest berths under the Frihavnsordning, and electricity, water, showers and Wi-Fi in the marina. Wednesday sailing (Onsdags-sejlads) is held regularly; there is also a youth section and courses for the Danish recreational boat certificate (Duelighedsbevis). Club life is shaped by work days, care of the club burgee and events around the fjord.
History
According to its statutes, Nakskov Sejlklub exists under this name to promote water sports. The club pursues this aim through racing, motorboating, social gatherings and other activities in the interest of water sports. It is closely linked to Hestehoved Lystbådehavn and uses facilities on Nakskov Fjord. In May 2019 the touring buoys in Nakskov Fjord were inspected and made ready by Nakskov Havn. In June 2019 a work day was held on Albuen: flooring was removed in the clubhouse, ventilation holes were drilled and the flagpole with the club burgee was raised; the weather vane was serviced and an old table-and-bench set was replaced by the sundial. Also in June 2019 the club boat Limbo was prepared and launched. On 20 June 2019 the marina installed a new floating pontoon, available among others to the kayak section. In summer 2019 the Fjorddagesejlads took place and results were published. The club also offered a Duelighedsbevis course and maintained social life at the harbour with Wednesday grilling. The club burgee is red with a white angle and star; the club flag is the Dannebrog. Today the club operates as an active sailing association with marina services, guest sailors, diesel supply and regular Wednesday sailing.
