Middelfart Sejlklub
Middelfart Sejlklub is an active sailing club on the Little Belt in Middelfart, Denmark, and a member of the Danish Sailing Association. The club has a clubhouse at Østre Hougvej 112, mast racks, a club jetty and barbecue area at Svinø, and uses Middelfart Marina. It offers weekly Wednesday racing for keelboats, a youth and dinghy section with Optimist and 29er, H-Boat school boats, a windsurf school, sailing school and cruising on the Little Belt. The youth section holds the Ungdomsvenlig Sejlklub title from Dansk Sejlunion and trains on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Highlights include Blue Week, Brandsø Rundt and Fænø Rundt as well as hosted championships such as Danish nationals for Folkboat and Wayfarer.
History
Middelfart Sejlklub (MS) is a sailing club based in Middelfart Municipality and a member of Dansk Sejlunion under Danmarks Idræts-Forbund. According to its statutes its purpose is to promote sailing in youth work, racing and cruising. Since the 2009 season the former dinghy section and youth section have been merged into a joint Ungdoms- og jolleafdeling; the section holds the Ungdomsvenlig Sejlklub title from Dansk Sejlunion. The club vision aiming for a large, high-quality club in the Triangle Region was adopted by the AGM in February 2018. The current statutes date from 22 April 2021. The club regularly hosts major events including the traditional Blue Week, Brandsø Rundt and Danish championships such as DM for Folkboat and Wayfarer. The youth section also organises the distance race Fænø Rundt in the waters around Middelfart Marina.
