WSG-Kaufbeuren e.V.
Wassersport Gruppe Kaufbeuren e.V. is a sailing club on the western shore of Lake Forggensee, directly in front of the Alpine massif with a view of Neuschwanstein Castle. Lake Forggensee is a reservoir covering about 15.2 square kilometres. The club grounds feature a floating pier with 31 berths, around 20 land berths, an asphalted slipway, a generous car park, and a clubhouse with kitchen and sanitary facilities plus a barbecue area. Guests can use dinghy, catamaran and pier berths by the day, week or season. The club maintains contact with other sailing clubs on Lake Forggensee and provides news and downloads related to the lake.
History
Wassersport Gruppe Kaufbeuren e.V. (WSG-Kaufbeuren e.V.) is a sailing club on the western shore of Lake Forggensee in the Allgäu, directly in front of the Alpine massif with a view of Neuschwanstein Castle. Lake Forggensee, where the club sails, is a reservoir of about 15.2 square kilometres. The grounds on the western shore include a floating pier with 31 berths, about 20 land berths, an asphalted slipway, a generous car park, a clubhouse with kitchen and sanitary facilities, and a barbecue area. The club is registered at the Kaufbeuren local court under VR 363. The club website regularly publishes news, for example about available land berths and crane operations in cooperation with the Füssen sailing club. Downloads include results of the Blaues Band on Lake Forggensee and information on navigating the lake. WSG-Kaufbeuren also lists other sailing clubs on Lake Forggensee and is part of the regional sailing community on the lake.
