Skærbæk Bådeklub

Skærbæk Bådeklub (S-B-K) is an active Danish sailing club at the Lystbådehavnen in Skærbæk near Fredericia, with a clubhouse, multi-purpose room and joint spring and autumn launching. Members sail Optimist dinghies, race keelboats and multihulls, and use the club's shared SB20 sportsboat fleet. The programme includes weekly evening regattas from May to September, joint races with neighbouring clubs, club championship, handicap race around Fænø, and a sailing school following Danish Sailing Union material. An active youth section offers training, regatta planning and separate Facebook groups for dinghy sailing, Optimist, windsurfing and SUP.

History

Skærbæk Bådeklub documents a long-standing club structure with ordinary general meetings at least since 2007; minutes are published online from 2007 to 2020, including an extraordinary general meeting on 30 June 2020. Current statutes applied from 30 June 2020. The club is organised through several committees: youth, sportsboat, racing, sponsorship and 'Wild about Water'. Each spring and autumn joint launching and haul-out is arranged with planning of winter berths on the harbour area. The racing committee emphasises that all boat types and experience levels can join regattas; active racers sail among others in Diam 24 and Dragonfly 1000. Since 2019 the club championship has been sailed in SB20 sportsboats, with Team Flotte as 2019 club champion. The traditional handicap race Fænø rundt closes the season – 2020 with 12 boats, 2021 with 12 boats (5 multihulls), 2022 with 13 boats (6 multihulls) and shared skipper's stew in the clubhouse. The club runs a sailing school for adults and youth over two seasons following Danish Sailing Union material. The clubhouse was renovated after storm-flood damage; heat pumps in the clubhouse and multi-room serve as the primary heating. Søren Søgaard Rasmussen represents the boat club on the harbour board.
