Real Club Náutico de Tenerife
Real Club Náutico de Tenerife is a historic multi-sport yacht club on the waterfront of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Founded in 1902 and granted the title “Real” in 1906, the club is located on Avenida Francisco la Roche and operates its own marina with ramps, dinghy sailing areas and berths. Besides sailing, rowing and motorboating, the facilities include swimming pools, tennis, frontón, squash and basketball. The sailing section organises regattas such as the Trofeo Infantas de España and develops juniors in Optimist and ILCA. With more than 4,500 members and social offerings from the clubhouse to cultural events, RCNT is a central hub of sporting and club life on Tenerife.
History
On 26 December 1902 notable citizens of Santa Cruz founded Club Tinerfeño at the Casino Principal; Ángel de Villa y López headed the first board. The aim was to promote physical exercise, especially maritime sports. The first clubhouse was built near Castillo de San Pedro; plans by architect Mariano Estanga were approved in 1903, and the inauguration took place on 16 January 1905 with regattas. By 1905 the club already had more than 200 members. In March 1906 King Alfonso XIII visited; on 23 April 1906 the title “Real” was granted. In 1913 the society joined the Spanish federation of clubs as Real Club Tinerfeño. From 1937 the present seat near Castillo de Paso Alto was built; the pool and tennis courts were used from 1940, with partial inauguration during the Fiestas de Mayo in 1941. The 1988 statutes state the purpose of promoting nautical and other sports and providing a social centre. Today RCNT has more than 4,500 members and over 12,000 potential users, with a clubhouse, pools, tennis, frontón, sports hall, squash and a marina for about 75 berths plus dinghy sailing facilities. Historically the club shaped sailing, tennis, swimming and basketball on Tenerife and in the Canaries.

Sailing and fishing, swimming and water polo, basketball and futsal, tennis, frontenis, frontón, table tennis and squash, plus gymnastics, yoga, dance, aerobics and cultural activities. The Náutica section organises regattas and junior development; summer courses and camps complement the programme.
Youth section
Active junior sailing development with Optimist and ILCA training, beginner courses and regatta participation; further youth programmes in tennis, swimming, basketball and squash as well as summer courses and camps.
