Real Club Marítimo de Huelva
Real Club Marítimo de Huelva is the leading nautical club in the Huelva region, located on the Odiel estuary at Punta del Sebo opposite the Marismas del Odiel Nature Park. The club offers more than 500 marina berths, 50 dry-marina places, a fuel station, changing rooms, a gym, a restaurant and sports hangars with direct estuary access for kayak and dinghy sailors. The sailing school runs year-round beginner and intermediate courses for children and adults plus an Optimist racing team for juniors aged 7 to 15. Each year the club organises the Semana Internacional Náutica Colombina with hundreds of athletes from different disciplines and nations. Since its founding in 1969 and the award of the REAL title in 1994, the club has been a fixture of Onubense nautical life.
History
Real Club Marítimo de Huelva was founded in 1969 from the former Club de Pesca Nuestra Señora de la Cinta and has more than 55 years of tradition as the main nautical reference in Huelva. In 1994 His Majesty the King’s household granted the club the title REAL. The sailing school was confirmed on 24 September 1990 by the Real Federación Española de Vela as Spain’s 42nd homologated school; the club had already been training young sailors before that. The marina was created in 2007 and expanded in 2011 with a fuel station. In May 2020 the sailing section was relaunched with beginner courses for adults and children; the adult sailing school under coach Pablo Gómez later counted more than 55 pupils by summer 2023 and competes in Senior/Master events from regional to international level. In 2021 the Optimist racing team was built under coach Luis Cárdenas; juniors take top places in the provincial ranking and strong results in Andalusian cups and championships. Since early 2024 a new board has coordinated the club with many future projects. Today the marina offers more than 500 berths and 50 dry places plus a wide sports and service range on the Odiel estuary.
