Rønbjerg Sejlklub
Rønbjerg Sejlklub is a friendly sailing association for sailboat and motorboat owners based at Rønbjerg Harbour on the western Limfjord, just south of Løgstør. The club represents members' interests towards the harbour owner Vesthimmerlands Municipality and offers a wide range of activities from sailing school and women's sailing to weekly club sails. Facilities include a clubhouse with member keys, a mast crane, mast storage sheds, and loan boats, kayaks and equipment. Adults can learn to sail on Monday evenings at the sailing school and obtain a duelighedsbevis certificate; on Wednesday evenings in spring and autumn, relaxed club sails take place. The harbour accommodates around 120 boats near the islands of Livø and Fur, making it an excellent base for cruising in the Limfjord region.
History
Rønbjerg Sejlklub is a sailing association based at Rønbjerg Harbour on the western Limfjord, where the ferry to Livø departs. The club welcomes sailboat and motorboat owners as well as people interested in sailing without their own boat, and organises its activities through departments and committees to share the workload among engaged members. In 2024 and 2025, harbour development was a major focus: harbour expansion progressed, the harbour was renovated, and a new breakwater was inaugurated on 27 April 2025. In August 2024, DIF and DGI donated life jackets to the club, and in July 2024 the youth section received a grant from Friluftsrådet. The club maintains traditions such as flag-raising and boat launching in spring, joint club sails, gourmet evenings on the beach, autumn de-rigging parties, and regular sailing school trips including to Livø. The women's sailing group responsible for the club L23 numbered nine members at the start of 2024. The youth section for children aged 8 to 15 is currently inactive and seeking youth leaders. Annual general meetings in early spring document the club's ongoing development with chair reports and minutes since at least 2020.
