History

Regatta-Segler Neuruppin e.V. is a race-oriented sailing club based at Regattastraße 17 in Neuruppin and a member of the German Sailing Federation. The club focuses on youth and performance sailing and is active in several boat classes, especially two-handed classes. In October 2021 the club acquired a new 29er and further expanded its youth fleet. Cadet sailors from RSN took part in the 2022 European Championship in Torquay and in the 2022/2023 Cadet World Championship in Melbourne, where Neuruppin teams finished 4th and 20th out of 31 boats. Since the 2021 season RSN has fielded a team in the German Sailing Bundesliga, taking a pioneering role in Brandenburg; racing is in the one-design J/70 class. The team later moved up to the 1st Sailing Bundesliga and celebrated a match-day victory at Wannsee in 2025, among other results. In parallel, RSN sailors achieved success at German Typhoon championships, state youth championships and international 29er events. In June 2025 the topping-out ceremony for the new boat hall took place. With the Parzival Cup and the Ruppiner Herbstdreieck the club organises its own regattas on Lake Ruppin and offers weekly Wednesday races for the club community.
