Segelabteilung des Post-Sportverein Trier e.V.
The sailing department of Post-Sportverein Trier e.V. is the largest of the PST's more than 30 departments with almost 400 members and was founded in 1969. At Trier-Monaise marina, members sail on the Moselle upper reservoir in a stretch of water roughly four kilometres long and 200 metres wide with low current and varied wind conditions. The club fleet includes Polyvalk, Pirat, 420er, ILCA 7, Optimist and Yngling class boats available for training and use by department members. The clubhouse Kajüte, a communal barbecue area, a 6-tonne crane, a race tower and WC and shower facilities characterise the infrastructure at the site with 100 water berths and 25 land berths. Regular youth training, the weekly Rund 6 sailing meet on Wednesdays from 18:00, in-house and regional ranking regattas, and training for boating licences and radio certificates are part of the programme. The club is a member of the German Sailing Association, the Rhineland-Palatinate regional sailing federation and has been a DSV cruising and leisure sailing base since 1997.
