Pirkkalan Pursiseura ry
Pirkkalan Pursiseura ry is a sailing and water sports club for residents of Pirkkala and neighbouring municipalities in Finland. The club runs the home harbour Turrin satama on Lake Pyhäjärvi and offers members berths, a slipway and shared club activities throughout the season. An active windsurfing section provides communal equipment, including Windsurfer LT boards and other gear in the club container. The programme includes season opening, boat inspections, harbour work parties and family events such as Venetian Night. Guests are welcome at the eco-friendly Roope harbour; berth enquiries go to the commodore or harbour master.
History
Pirkkalan Pursiseura ry is a registered association based in Pirkkala; the club language is Finnish. The current rules date from 31 May 2021. The purpose is to develop sailing sport and members’ boat and water skills through courses, practical training and competitions. The club maintains the private home harbour Turrin satama on Lake Pyhäjärvi, mediates boating equipment and works to develop facilities and gear. Leadership rests with the board including commodore (chair), vice-commodore and further members; elections are held in autumn for two-year terms.
