Piluddens Båtklubb
Piluddens Båtklubb is a non-profit boat and sailing club on Lake Mälaren in the Kallhäll area near Stockholm, with harbour and yard facilities just below the former Bolinder factory. The club offers around 200 berths on solid concrete pontoons with electricity and water, plus a yard area with clubhouse, winter storage and an environmental station. Young sailors aged about 10 to 14 can join a dinghy group with sailing sessions and loaner life jackets. Members take part in harbour watch duties, and the club island Klintholmen provides barbecues, swimming spots and a T-shaped jetty. Since its founding in 1982, community spirit, environmental responsibility and active harbour and yard care have shaped club life.
History
Piluddens Båtklubb was founded in 1982 by a group of enthusiasts; one of them, “Stickan”, can still often be seen greeting people from the harbour watchtower. The harbour was built at its present site just below the former Bolinder factory, with fine views and striking sunsets over Lake Mälaren. Where new housing stands today there was once rock and a wooded slope with a path along the lake; large willow trees lined the shore promenade and gave the club its name. Piers once extended out from the land; today they run along the promenade, and winter storage moved from beside the harbour to the current yard area. For many years former chairman Wallde Johansson largely ran the club and remained loyal until 2020. On 21 April 2012 the club adopted an environmental policy (updated 2014) and, together with neighbouring clubs such as Jakobsbergs Båtsällskap and Kallhälls Båtklubb, works for environmentally sound harbour and yard operations to protect Lake Mälaren as a drinking-water source. Club island Klintholmen has been leased for many years as a shared oasis with a T-jetty, barbecues and play facilities; recent member work parties included cleaning, furniture care, planting, solar panels along the jetty and reinforcement of the outer pier.

Joint launching and haul-out in early May and October; member harbour watch and site security; youth dinghy group for sailing-keen 10- to 14-year-olds in the summer months and then regularly on Wednesdays; visits to club island Klintholmen for swimming and barbecues; environmentally sound yard work including biocide-free antifouling rules.
