Royal Péronnes Yacht Club
The Royal Péronnes Yacht Club ASBL is a long-established sailing club on Lake Péronnes (Grand Large) in Péronnes-lez-Antoing in the Belgian Wallonia region. For around 60 years the club has operated Antoing Harbor with modern infrastructure: visitor docks for boats of all sizes, electric and water connections, sanitary facilities with showers and a laundry. A launching ramp for sailing dinghies and cabin boats enables active sailing on the Grand Large; the club organises friendly regattas and social sailing events such as the Sortie des Copains. The main harbour building houses the bar-restaurant La Marina with panoramic views over the lake. The marina inaugurated in 2025 increased capacity from 90 to 130 berths and strengthens the site's appeal as a watersports destination.
History
The Royal Péronnes Yacht Club ASBL has managed Antoing Harbor in Péronnes-lez-Antoing on the Grand Large water body for approximately 60 years. As part of an ambitious project to turn the Grand Large into an internationally oriented tourist destination, Antoing Marina was reconfigured and inaugurated on 21 March 2025. The addition of 1,270 square metres of pontoons increased capacity from 90 to 130 berths, creating 40 additional moorings where boaters can also stay overnight, shower, do laundry and recharge electricity. A new curved visitor dock protects boats against ice pressure over more than 700 metres and opens the harbour to walkers and cyclists wishing to tour the lake. On shore, a next-generation harbour office, the panoramic La Marina restaurant, an annex of the Antoing tourist office and meeting rooms were built; the landscaping was carefully designed to integrate the site into the surroundings. The club offers a slip for dinghies and cabin boats, social sailing activities with other members, friendly regattas and the hosting of selected competitions in a sporting and convivial spirit.
