Jacht Klub Pogoria III
Jacht Klub Pogoria III is a sailing club on Lake Pogoria 3 in Dąbrowa Górnicza in the Silesian Voivodeship. The club base offers cabin and open-deck sailing yachts, kayaks, rowing boats, a training room, a hangar with workshop, internal parking, a slipway with winch, and a kitchenette plus sanitary facilities with shower. The programme includes yacht skipper and motorboat skipper courses, an Optimist racing school for children from age six, and sailing activities for juniors and adults. Since its founding in 2001 the club has become one of the leading sailing centres in Silesia and has organised the international Inter Puchar Zagłębia regattas on Lake Pogoria 3 for twelve years.
History
Jacht Klub Pogoria 3 has existed since 2001 and has built a strong position in the sailing community. The base is located on scenic Lake Pogoria 3 in Dąbrowa Górnicza and is used for learning, training and sailing. The club promotes sailing among children, teenagers and adults; its mission is to develop sailing in the region, spread water-safety knowledge and organise events that bring water-sports enthusiasts together. Through experience and commitment it has become one of the leading sailing centres in Silesia. For 15 years it has run sailing classes for children and youth in Dąbrowa Górnicza. For twelve years it has hosted the annual international Inter Puchar Zagłębia regattas in May on Lake Pogoria 3, attracting sailors from many countries and ranking among the region's major sailing events. The offer includes yacht charter and resident berths as well as storage of water-sports equipment during and after the season. The club also organises sea cruises on the Baltic, Mediterranean, Ionian Sea and Atlantic among other waters.
