Segel und Wassersport Verein Werbellinsee e. V. (SWV Werbellinsee) is an active sailing club on Lake Werbellinsee in Altenhof, municipality of Schorfheide. The club grounds on Uferstraße offer jetties with berths, a boat hall, slipway and a mess for club life and work parties; in 2025/2026 the jetty was renewed jointly by members. Classes sailed include Ixylon dinghies, 15er and other Jollenkreuzer, and Pirates; the club organises season opening and closing sails, the Fun Cup at the cruising sailors' meeting, and the Altenhof long-distance race. Members gather for work parties, the annual general meeting and social evenings; guest sailors from the area are welcome at festivals and regattas.
History
Segel und Wassersport Verein Werbellinsee e. V. maintains a lively club life on Lake Werbellinsee in Altenhof with jetty, boat hall and mess. For many years the club blog has documented joint work parties for season preparation and autumn tasks, including leaf clearing, jetty care, slipping and maintenance of bathing ladders and grounds. Season opening and closing sails are held regularly; the flotilla meets in front of the mess for the skippers' briefing and typically sails towards Barschberg and back to the berths in Altenhof. A highlight is the annual cruising sailors' meeting with bottle race and Fun Cup, which also attracts guest sailors from other clubs on the lake; the Fun Cup has been continued over many editions as a team event with drawn crews and Ixylon dinghies. In 2024 the club established the first Altenhof long-distance race for 20er Jollenkreuzer as a six-hour non-stop regatta between Barschberg and Holzablage Michen; in 2025 the second long-distance race followed with yardstick scoring. Members also compete in area regattas such as the Werbellinsee regatta and the Sherry Cup of Yachtclub Schorfheide. In autumn 2025, after a club resolution and funding application, the extensive jetty renewal began as member self-build work; by spring 2026 work on the new jetty was completed. The 2026 annual general meeting discharged the board and treasury for 2025 and welcomed new membership candidates; the club remains a firm anchor for cruising and racing sailors on Lake Werbellinsee.
