SVR – Zweigverein Segeln
SVR – Zweigverein Segeln is the sailing section of Sportverein Reutte and runs its club grounds on Lake Plansee in the Tyrolean mountains. Members use shore berths for dinghies and catamarans as well as water berths for yachts up to eight metres; facilities include a marina with pier, clubhouse and dinghy area. The programme covers youth training and camps, A-Schein sailing courses, season opening sails, club championships and pursuit races with a summer night festival. Founded in 1970, the section has shaped local sailing; its 50th anniversary was celebrated in 2020, and the pier was renewed in 2023.
History
The sailing section of Sportverein Reutte was founded in 1970. The first chair was Walter Nickmann (1970–1971), followed by Alfred Jäger (1971–1974 and again 1977–1984), Hans Heinrich (1974–1977), Helmut Jahn (1984–2002), Alexander Wasle (2002–2010), Oskar Ginther (2010–2016), Norbert Lexl (2016–2020) and Alexander Wasle again from 2020. In 2020 the section celebrated its 50th anniversary with a pursuit race and festival; a brochure documents the club history. On Lake Plansee the club regularly holds season openings, club championships, youth training and pursuit races with a summer night festival. In 2023 the old marina pier was demolished and a new pier built; breakwater works followed in 2024. The club also supports inclusive events such as the Special Olympics Plansee Inclusion Cup and runs active youth work with A-Schein training. Honorary chairs and members include Alfred Jäger, Alexander Wasle, Oskar Ginther and Jürgen Koch.
