Segelverein Pouch e.V.
Segelverein Pouch e.V. is an active sailing club on Lake Muldestausee in southern Saxony-Anhalt, near the Düben Heath and the Bitterfeld-Wolfen region. The harbour grounds lie at the southeastern tip of the 630-hectare lake and offer jetties, land, water and pontoon berths, a clubhouse and slipways. Leisure and racing sailors are equally welcome; the club hosts four regattas each year, including two ranking events. Special focus is placed on children and youth sailing with Segeljugend Muldestausee and weekly training. Founded in 1976 as BSG Favorit Pouch and renamed after German reunification, the club has about 62 members and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2026.
History
In southern Saxony-Anhalt, Lake Muldestausee was created in 1974/75 from the former Muldenstein open-cast mine, adjacent to the Düben Heath. In 1976, sailing enthusiasts from the Bitterfeld-Wolfen chemical region and the village of Pouch founded BSG Favorit Pouch. After reunification and the loss of the supporting enterprise, the club was renamed Segelverein Pouch e.V. For more than 40 years, active sailing has taken place on the 630-hectare lake. The club hosts four regattas annually, including two ranking events open to all boat classes, with SVP sailors and crews from neighbouring clubs on Muldestausee and Goitzsche. Children and youth sport is a priority: weekly training, state youth training camps and state youth championships. In 2012, together with neighbouring clubs, Segeljugend Muldestausee was established with concentrated youth training at SV Pouch. The club is a member of the German Sailing Federation, the Saxony-Anhalt Sailing Federation and the Saxony-Anhalt Sports Federation. On 6 June 2026 the club celebrated its 50th anniversary with a sports festival. In 2026 it received a funding grant of 53,000 euros for renovating the main path to the water and a new boat engine.

Youth section
Active Segeljugend Muldestausee with weekly training from mid-April to early October, Thursdays from 16:00; children from age 5 with Seepferdchen swimming badge; training camps and regatta participation.
