Sundbybergs båtklubb
Sundbybergs båtklubb is a traditional boat club in Sundbyberg near Stockholm and has offered boating for everyone since 1915. The club runs a harbour and shipyard area with a pier of about 150 berths, a night-watch tower, a machine hall and a workshop. Alongside conventional boat operations there is a dedicated kayak and canoe section with special storage boxes near the workshop. Members serve night watches in pairs, organise haul-outs, boom removal and clean-up days, and thus secure harbour and yard. The long club history since 1915 and active member participation shape life on the water.
History
Sundbybergs båtklubb has existed since 1915 and promotes the motto “Båtliv för alla sedan 1915” – boating for everyone since 1915. The club operates a harbour and shipyard area in Sundbyberg with pier, night-watch tower, machine hall and workshop. Over the years a structured member system has developed: night watches are done in pairs; autumn haul-outs and boom removals plus clean-up days organise the season change. During the 2020 pandemic the traditional officials’ party after boats and booms were taken up was cancelled; official reimbursements were still arranged. Later a dedicated kayak and canoe section was founded, including special kayak boxes near the workshop. Two surveillance cameras were installed on the site. In 2026 the club elected a new chair and published important dates for the year. Today harbour operations, yard teamwork and the kayak section define club life.
