Stjørdal Båtforening
Stjørdal Båtforening is a voluntary, democratic and non-political organisation founded in 1971 and located on the Trondheim Fjord in Stjørdal. The association operates a harbour with around 340 berths of various sizes as well as a spacious guest pontoon for small and large boats. Facilities include sanitary facilities with toilets, showers and washing machine, wheelchair-accessible toilets, an environmental station, large outdoor areas with seating by the water, a summer kiosk with barbecue area, a diesel fuel facility and a boat slip for members. The central location near Trondheim Airport Værnes and Stjørdal town centre makes the harbour easily accessible for residents and visitors. Only a three-minute walk away lies the Storvika recreation area with beach and opportunities for windsurfing, sailing and kayaking. More than fifty years of voluntary work and thrifty management shape the lively harbour environment of the region.
History
Stjørdal Båtforening was founded in 1971 as a voluntary, democratic and non-political organisation and has since been run on a non-profit basis. For more than fifty years the association has been a meeting place for boat enthusiasts and outdoor lovers in the region. Through thrifty operations and thousands of hours of voluntary communal work (dugnad), an inviting harbour area was developed that today serves as a popular destination for residents of the municipality. The harbour offers around 340 berths of various sizes with capacity for further expansion as well as a guest pontoon with good capacity also for larger boats. Modern facilities such as sanitary facilities, environmental station, summer kiosk, diesel facility and boat slip were built up step by step. The location on the Trondheim Fjord near the airport and town centre makes the harbour a lively hub for local and visiting boaters.
