Seehamer Segelclub SSC
Seehamer Segelclub SSC is a non-profit sailing club on Lake Obertrumer See in Seeham, Austria, promoting sailing since 1961. The club grounds on Hauptstraße offer piers, a clubhouse, crane and slip facilities as well as land storage for dinghies and larger boats. Focus areas include youth development with regular training, children's trial days and a dedicated youth boat fleet, plus an active regatta programme with club cups, the Seehamer Seerose and class championships. In 2026 the club celebrates 65 years and remains a fixture of the Salzburg lake sailing community.
History
Seehamer Segelclub has existed since 1961 with the purpose of non-profit promotion of sailing and youth development from the outset. Over decades the club on Lake Obertrumer See became a key regatta and youth venue in the Salzburg lake district. It regularly hosts championships and focus regattas including Aquila Austrian championships, TopCat national and state titles, O-Jolle focus events and large youth events such as the Obelix regatta with sometimes more than forty Optimists. Youth work produced international success including world titles and Austrian junior championships in Optimist, Zoom8 and 29er. In 2021 the club marked 60 years with a birthday festival; 2026 brings the 65th anniversary. Facilities include clubhouse, piers with berths, crane and slip operations and a webcam; yearbooks document club life for many years.
