Sejlklubben Rødvig-Stevns
Sejlklubben Rødvig-Stevns is an active sailing club at Rødvig harbour on the northern part of Faxe Bay in Stevns Municipality, Denmark. The club has a clubhouse at Havnepladsen 5 and offers junior sailing in Optimists as well as keelboat evening racing and shared cruises. Weekly youth training, weekend events and the certified UNG KLUB youth section shape the programme; members can join Wednesday Onsdagssejlads as skipper or crew. Highlights include the revived traditional Sølvloggen race dating back to 1979, membership of Dansk Sejlunion and Sydstævnekredsen, and a club life run entirely by volunteers with club evenings and flag-raising ceremonies.
History
Sejlklubben Rødvig-Stevns (SRS) is based at Rødvig harbour in Stevns Municipality. Its purpose is to promote sailing and motorboating, train local youth in a junior section, and represent members' interests towards authorities and organisations, including relations with Rødvig Harbour. The club belongs to Dansk Sejlunion under Dansk Idrætsforbund and to Sydstævnekredsen. The traditional club race Sølvloggen dates back to 1979; after a long pause the race committee revived it, now with smartphone GPS logging. The youth section is certified as UNG KLUB under Dansk Sejlunion Ungdom; approval lasts three years and was renewed in 2017 and again in 2024. In November 2020 SRS was re-certified as a youth-friendly sailing club. Club life includes annual flag raising and lowering, winter club evenings with talks, Sunday lunches on the first Sunday of the month, and work and party days around the clubhouse. Keelboat sailors meet for weekly evening races (Onsdagssejlads) with socialising afterwards and take part in away regattas and shared trips. The club is run entirely by volunteer work.
