Segelklubben Måsungen
Segelklubben Måsungen is a traditional Swedish sailing club with roots in the 1930s and a clubhouse at Duvnäs Udde in Saltsjö-Duvnäs near Stockholm. The site sits on Duvnäsviken and offers ideal conditions for sailing camps, junior and adult training, and Sunday dinghy-club sailing. The programme ranges from Sjöpigge for six- and seven-year-olds through children's and youth camps to private lessons, racing and a club fleet including Optimist, Open Bic and Laser. The club is especially known for well-organised summer camps with dedicated instructors and strong youth development. Members may join open Sunday sailing; membership is mandatory for camp and training participants.
History
Segelklubben Måsungen traces its history back to the 1930s. The numbering of annual meetings – the 94th årsmöte in 2025 and the call to the 95th – confirms the club's long continuity since its early founding years. The club is known for carefully organised sailing camps with knowledgeable and enthusiastic leaders. Club life centres on the clubhouse at Duvnäs Udde in Saltsjö-Duvnäs, from which the whole of Duvnäsviken is used for sailing. Over the decades a broad camp and training programme has developed: from age six, children start with the Sjöpiggarna and learn basics of seamanship, boats and nature. Older children and teenagers continue with Seglarläger and Ungdomsläger, complemented by spring and autumn training groups and private lessons. The club fleet includes Optimist dinghies, Open Bic, Laser and a donated First 18. Alongside summer camps, the club runs open Sunday sailing (Jolleklubb), regattas such as the Höstregatta and Sommarkappsegling, and partner courses for boat licences. Today SK Måsungen is an active family and youth club in the Stockholm archipelago focused on training, camps and club sailing.
