Sejlklubben Ebeltoft Vig
Sejlklubben Ebeltoft Vig is an active sailing club on Ebeltoft Vig in Denmark for sailors, motorboaters and stand-up paddlers of all generations. The meeting place is the clubhouse Bundstokken at Skudehavnen 2A in 8400 Ebeltoft, offering community, courses, racing, shared trips and social events. Members can use club Ynglings and ten SUP boards, race OK Dinghies and join Tuesday club racing. The youth section trains on Thursdays from May to September including a shared meal; guests may try activities a few times without joining. Since the impulse of the 1963 Landsstævne, the club has been rooted in Syddjurs and cooperates with projects such as Vild med Vand Ebeltoft.
History
The founding impulse for Sejlklubben Ebeltoft Vig came from the Landsstævne in 1963; since then the club has grown as a sailing club on Ebeltoft Vig in Syddjurs. The clubhouse Bundstokken at Skudehavnen 2A is the hub for club life, courses and social events. In OK Dinghy sailing, Ebeltoft once hosted one of Denmark’s largest OK fleets and in recent years several national OK events, while the local field later became smaller as new fleets grew elsewhere, including Kaløvig Bådelaug. Since 2017 the club has developed stand-up paddling: with support worth about 90,000 kroner from among others Syddjurs Kommunes udviklingsfond, Nationalpark Mols Bjerge, Fonden Østdjursland, Ebeltoft Sparekasses Fond, Friluftsrådet, Vild med Vand and TrygFonden, plus advice from Dansk Sejlunion, ten SUP boards, gear and training for four instructors were funded. Today the offer includes Yngling hire for members, Tuesday racing, youth and SUP programmes, and cooperation with Vild med Vand Ebeltoft and Ebeltoft Windsurfing Klub.
