1. SG Segeln Kulkwitzer See e.V. is a sailing club on the Markranstädt side of Lake Kulkwitz in Markranstädt. The club has existed since 1970 and currently has around 62 members with about 20 boats at its own jetties. The roughly 7,000-square-metre club grounds include a club building, jetty facilities, electricity and hot water connections, and two kitchens. A dedicated car park provides ample space, including for cars with boat trailers. Club life includes current news, general meetings and participation in regattas such as the Grünes Band on Lake Kulkwitz. Interested parties can contact the club easily by email.
History
1. SG Segeln Kulkwitzer See e.V. was founded in 1970 and has thus existed for 55 years. The sailing club is located on the Markranstädt side of Lake Kulkwitz and has steadily grown in members and boats over time. In 2025 the club had more than 60 members; currently around 62 members and about 20 boats at the jetties are reported. The club grounds cover roughly 7,000 square metres with a club building, jetties, car park, electricity and hot water connections, and two kitchens. Since May 2025 the club has operated its own website with insights into club life, current news and announcements. On 4 June 2026 the 50th Grünes Band took place on Lake Kulkwitz, with 1. SGS represented by five boats. The club is registered at the Leipzig local court under registration number VR 635.
