History
Segel-Club Einheit e. V. (SCE, SCE BG 010) is a registered association based at Lake Scharmützelsee in Bad Saarow. It is entered in the association register of the Oder-Spree district under number 21; the register court is Frankfurt/Oder. The club sees itself as a small, friendly and family-oriented community for both racing enthusiasts and experienced cruising sailors. Club life follows a clear seasonal rhythm: communal launching and a work day at the start, a local opening sail, then closing sail and haul-out in autumn. The main sporting event is the annual long-distance race across Lake Scharmützelsee to Wendisch Rietz and back; depending on the wind, courses via Diensdorf to Saarow-Strand or to the Werl are also sailed. Scoring is by classes and yardstick; if more than four boats from one club take part, there is an additional club classification. Besides the long-distance race, the club championship and local closing sail are part of the fixed programme. Race results and impressions are published on the club website, including overall results and separate rankings for dinghies, cruiser dinghies and keelboats.
