Segelclub Forelle Steyr
Segelclub Forelle Steyr is the official sailing club in Steyr and sails on the Staning reservoir in Upper Austria. History
According to the Austrian Sailing Federation, Sportverein Forelle Steyr dates back to 1947 and is thus one of the older sailing clubs on the reservoir waters around Steyr. Under the federation code FOR, the club is registered with the OeSV and affiliated with ASVÖ. The sailing area is the Staning reservoir on the Enns near Steyr, where the club organises regattas and club sailing. Club history includes anniversary publications for fifty years of existence (1947–1997). Today the sailing section operates as Sportverein Forelle Steyr Segeln at Michael-Blümelhuberstraße 20 in 4400 Steyr. Chairman is Thomas Beidl; further board roles are held by Lukas Mitter, Markus Oberreiter, Felix Redtenbacher and Sabine Steinwender. The club is known as host of ranking regattas such as the Aquila event and traditionally invites sailors to the season opening and spring regattas on the reservoir.
