Segel-Club Rot-Weiß Prenzlau e.V. is one of the oldest sailing clubs in Germany and is located on Lake Unteruckersee in Prenzlau in the Uckermark region. The club's main focus is cruising sailing, both on the home waters of Unteruckersee and on the Baltic Sea, with shared trips and enjoyment of fine sailing grounds. The large club grounds by the lake with a veranda form the setting for club life, work parties and club celebrations. Visiting boats may find berths ashore or afloat depending on capacity; sanitary facilities are included in guest berth fees. Founded in 1888 by Prenzlau merchants, the club has survived political upheavals and kept its passion for sailing together.
History
Segel-Club Rot-Weiß Prenzlau e.V. was founded in 1888 by Prenzlau merchants and is thus one of the oldest sailing clubs in Germany. Over many decades the club has survived political upheavals and reinvented itself again and again. The ideas of countless members have left their mark on the club's history. What has never changed is the enthusiasm for practising sailing together. Today the focus is on cruising sailing on Unteruckersee and the Baltic Sea. The large club grounds on Uckerpromenade with a veranda are the hub for trips, work parties and club festivities. The club is entered in the register of associations at the Neuruppin district court (VR 2492 NP) and is recognised as a non-profit organisation by the Angermünde tax office.
