Segelclub Hersbruck e.V.
Segelclub Hersbruck e.V. is a non-profit sailing club on Happurg Reservoir in the heart of the Franconian Alb between Houbirg and Deckersberg. The club grounds sit on the south-western shore of the roughly 55-hectare lake and feature a wooden clubhouse built in 2000 with kitchen, group room, boat hall and veranda, plus storage for about 60 dinghies. Active classes include Korsar, 420, ILCA 7 and Optimist, with training, trial sails and club-owned boats for instruction. The youth group meets on Fridays, evening sailing is on Wednesdays, and the year includes club and class regattas such as the Korsar Kelten-Cup and the Opti-Wichtel. The club promotes sailing and youth sailing and also offers sport boat licence courses when there is demand.
History
Segelclub Hersbruck e.V. is based in Hersbruck and is entered in the register of associations at the Hersbruck local court. Its purpose is to promote sailing and youth sailing; it is a member of the German Sailing Federation, the Bavarian Sports Federation and the Bavarian Sailing Federation. The club grounds lie on the south-western shore of Happurg Reservoir. In 2000 the wooden clubhouse was built and has since provided a kitchen, group room, boat hall and veranda as the centre of club life. In summer there are often barbecue evenings; in winter the house is used for training and Opti winter meetings. The current statutes were adopted in Happurg on 24 March 2017. Today the club runs two class regattas and three club regattas each year, maintains berths for about 60 dinghies and supports active classes such as Korsar, 420, Laser and Optimist.
