Delmenhorster Segelclub St. Veit e.V. von 1924
Delmenhorster Segelclub St. Veit e.V. is a water sports club with around 120 members at the mouth of the Ochtum, a left tributary of the lower Weser at Lemwerder-Ochtum. The site includes a floating pontoon in tidal waters, a 60 by 20 metre boat hall for 35 to 40 boats, a clubhouse with a terrace on the Ochtum embankment and an Optimist storage shed on the tide-free old arm of the Ochtum. The club offers sailing and motor boating for all age groups: since 2004, the Ochtum youth programme jointly run with SCO and DWV supports Optimist and dinghy groups with licensed coaches, regular training sessions and regatta participation. Community trips such as launch and mooring cruises, club festivals, work parties and an active club life shape the year; guests can moor at the first pontoon behind the Ochtum barrage with electricity and water available.
