Segelclub von Plön e.V. (SCvP) is the sailing club in Plön on the Ascheberg side of the Großer Plöner See at Koppelsberg. The southwest-facing club grounds offer views across the lake; the clubhouse renovated in 2014/15 has a bar, kitchen and large lounge, plus showers, changing rooms and a washing machine. Members use the jetty and harbour, can crane and slip by arrangement (crane up to 2500 kg) and find guest berths on request. The programme includes weekly Friday regattas, the club championship, the Blue Ribbon, fun regatta, midsummer sailing and joint outings; young sailors take part via summer camp and youth events. Since its founding in 1968, after several sites in town, the club has been firmly rooted at Plön Lake and invites sailors to join.
History
Segelclub von Plön e.V. (SCvP) was founded in 1968 in Plön. After several moves within the town, the club found its home on the Ascheberg part of the Großer Plöner See at Koppelsberg. The grounds face southwest and offer a wide view over the lake. The clubhouse was extensively renovated in 2014/15 and provides a bar, kitchen and a large lounge for meetings, game nights and brunch. Club life includes internal events such as the club championship and the weekly Friday regatta; each year the Blue Ribbon is contested within the club. In 2019 the SCvP celebrated its 50th anniversary with a children's and sailing programme during the day and a celebration in the evening. The former 8-hour race was replaced from 2020 by a long-distance race across large parts of Plön Lake. The DLRG Plön local group awarded the sailing club the silver membership honour badge for 40 years of loyalty. Today the club year is shaped by season opening, jetty assembly and dismantling, outings, regattas and social gatherings on the spacious grounds.
