Särö Båtklubb
Särö Båtklubb (Särö BK) is a sailing and boating club on the Swedish west coast at Särö in Halland, with its own pier (brygga), clubhouse and two saunas directly by the sea. The club offers sailing, a sailing school (seglarskolan), racing, event sailing and annual club championships (KM), including the Optimist class. Members can borrow club dinghies, sailboats and kayaks after instruction and booking via boka.se/sarobatklubb. The programme includes after-work sailing with sauna, joint spring and autumn work days, and an active youth section. In 2025 the club celebrated its 100th anniversary.
History
Särö Båtklubb celebrated its 100th anniversary (100-årsjubiléeum) in 2025, placing the club's founding around 1925. The club website documents ongoing development of the facilities: in the 2020s, new refrigerators were sponsored by Spendrups, a web-based sauna temperature display was introduced, and sauna heaters were replaced. Regular spring and autumn work days are used to rig club dinghies, maintain the pier and care for the clubhouse and saunas. The club holds annual club championships (KM) in several classes and runs an active sailing school. The site on Säröhusvägen includes a pier, clubhouse and saunas by the sea and is a fixture of sailing life in the Halland region.
