Sandvikens Segelsällskap

Sandvikens Segelsällskap is a non-profit water sports association on Lake Storsjön in Sandviken, Gävleborg, Sweden. Founded on 22 November 1913, the club brings together sailing, water skiing and canoeing under one roof and operates the harbours Stenbryggan and Trebo as well as a clubhouse at Bångs. With around 1,600 members, the association offers moorings, boat houses, winter and summer storage, and a solidarity-based harbour watch for greater security. Activities range from recreational and racing sailing to canoe and paddling events and high-level youth training. Safety, sustainability and a vibrant lake sports culture on Storsjön are at the heart of the club's vision.

History

Sandvikens Segelsällskap was founded on 22 November 1913 and has since played a significant role in promoting water sports and lake life in the area. At the time of founding, the association had only 13 members, but over the years it grew steadily and now counts around 1,600 water sports enthusiasts. The club's continued success and development are the result of members' commitment and diverse interests. Every voluntary contribution has played an important role in maintaining and improving club operations. Thanks to dedicated efforts and shared goals, Sandvikens Segelsällskap stands strong today and looks forward with confidence to the coming century. The club is proud of its history but also looks to the future with enthusiasm and ambition. Being a member means being part of a strong community and living tradition. Together, members continue to shape the future of water sports and promote lake life in the beautiful Storsjön region.
