Sandefjord Seilforening
Sandefjord Seilforening has been the hub of sailing in Sandefjord on the Norwegian coast since 1890. The club operates facilities at Granholmen and on the island of Seilerholmen in the middle of the fjord, with pontoons, a clubhouse, crane and dinghy ramp. Activities include dinghy sailing with Optimist, RS Feva and J/70, keelboat cruising, DF65 radio sailing and an active regatta programme including the Tuesday regatta series. Children and juniors can join beginner courses, summer camps and regular training sessions, while adults can take part in J/70 training and sailing courses. The club emphasises community, volunteer commitment and the sustainable development of sailing in the region.
History
Sandefjord Seilforening was founded on 27 August 1890 at Hotel Kong Carl to promote interest in sailing. The first handicap regatta was held on 21 June 1891 with twelve boats in two classes, starting and finishing at the town quays. Over the following decades start areas moved between the inner harbour, Fredøy, Granholmen, Furuholmen and Kisteholmen until the club acquired Seilerholmen in 1945 as a permanent base in the fjord. Granholmen was taken over in 1918 and later developed with a crane and dinghy ramp. After the Second World War youth and family sailing grew strongly, not least through the Kragerøterna class. Today the club has modern facilities at Granholmen and Seilerholmen, a substantial fleet and an active training and regatta environment. Sporting highlights include national and international titles and the silver medal won by Erik Bjørkum and Ole Petter Pollen in the Flying Dutchman at the 1988 Olympics. The club has also hosted numerous championships at national and international level.

Youth section
Active dinghy group for beginners and improvers with courses, summer camp and training at Granholmen on Mondays and Wednesdays from April to September, plus fixed training on Mondays and Thursdays at 17:30.
