Sail-Lollipop Regatta Verein e.V.
Sail-Lollipop Regatta Verein e.V. (SLRV) in Hooksiel on the North Sea is a non-profit DSV member club for active racing sailors and regatta participants. Since 2001, the club has offered affordable federation membership with no joining fees and no work duties. Its marina berths are located in Marina Hooksiel on the tide-free Hooksmeer with access to the Jade estuary and North Sea; at piers 3, 4 and 5, members have around 100 berths plus guest berths. The programme includes regatta sailing, regional information, training courses and an active youth section with Optimist training. Popular cruising destinations include Heligoland, the East and North Frisian Islands and the Weser.
History
Sail-Lollipop Regatta Verein e.V. was founded in 2001 by the Lollipop crew (GER-4926) to provide all crew members with the DSV club membership required for regattas and an affordable platform for racing sailors. The club was established on 15 April 2001, is registered in Oldenburg (VR201154) and is based in Hooksiel. As a non-profit organisation it promotes water sports, especially sailing as a recreational and racing sport, and is a member of the German Sailing Association, German Motor Yacht Association, Lower Saxony State Sports Federation, Lower Saxony Sailing Association, Lower Saxony Motorboat Sports Association and the German Optimist Dinghy Association. Since spring 2011 the club has offered berths in Marina Hooksiel. The club charter was adopted on 27 January 2017; the current statutes were passed on 26 April 2024. The club grew steadily and now serves more than 1,400 members of all ages with lean structures and web-based administration.
