History
Solna Seglarskola has actively operated as an open sailing school in the city since 1986. The sailing school is run by the sports association Solna Strands Kappseglingsklubb. The racing club is a member of the Swedish Sailing Federation (SSF), and all instructors are SSF-certified. The aim is to teach children, young people and adults to sail and enjoy being on the water; the motto is sailing for everyone. In addition to practical sailing school, courses and certifications are offered according to the guidelines of Nämnden för båtlivsutbildning. Youth and Optimist work is organised in several levels, from sailing-school level through green and blue to the red racing group with participation in Gill Stockholm Cup and national junior championships. The club also organises events such as Ulvsundaregattan within Gill Stockholm Cup and the irregularly recurring Ulvsunda Ocean Race for advanced sailors and racing teams as well as neighbouring clubs.
