History
Nesodden Seilforening is a sports club affiliated with the Norwegian sports confederation and is run on a volunteer (dugnad) basis. The club maintains its harbour and clubhouse on Persteila in the Steilene recreation area on the Oslofjord. Harbour fees go entirely to the club and are used mainly for children's and youth activities. Members maintain the facilities and clubhouse; during dugnad weekend 2026, Steilene was refurbished, cleaned and prepared for the new season. The clubhouse operates seasonally from May to October, with a kiosk and the well-known Steilene waffle. Members can serve as clubhouse hosts (vertskap), stay on site and help run the operation. Alongside the dinghy group with Optimist and ILCA training and the youth league, the keelboat section offers the Wednesday race Steilene Rundt and social cruising events such as Steilene 3-dagers and the Hummerseilasen.
