Club Náutico San Esteban
Club Náutico San Esteban is a sailing and nautical sports club in the seaport of San Esteban de Pravia at the mouth of the River Nalón in the Asturian municipality of Muros del Nalón. The club has a headquarters with office, activity and lounge rooms, a sports zone in the dry marina La Junquera with slipway and pier, a dry marina with crane, and a fuel service in the harbour. It offers sailing, rowing, fishing and underwater activities, a sailing school with courses, a federated racing team, and the Patrón de Embarcación de Recreo course. Regular regattas such as Regata El Carmen and Regata Puerto San Esteban welcome children and adults. Founded as Club Náutico Nalón in 1981 and renamed in 2013, the club continues the region's nautical tradition and inaugurated its renovated headquarters in 2025.
History
Club Náutico San Esteban is located in the seaport of San Esteban de Pravia in the municipality of Muros del Nalón at the mouth of the River Nalón. It grew from a local initiative and was constituted on 20 April 1981 as Club Náutico Nalón to promote sporting, cultural and recreational activities at the river mouth. On 20 April 1994 a new founding deed was filed for registration in the sports club register of the Principality of Asturias. By resolution of 23 March 2000 it became a basic sports club with number 776. On 11 October 2013 it was renamed Náutico San Esteban and expanded its sections to sailing, rowing, fishing and underwater activities. The Principality of Asturias completed rehabilitation of the club building with an investment of 246,719 euros; in May 2025 the headquarters were officially inaugurated. The club organises regattas such as Regata El Carmen and Regata Puerto San Esteban, runs a sailing school, and provides dry marina, crane and fuel services in the harbour.
