Real Club Náutico de Gandia
Real Club Náutico de Gandia is a traditional Spanish yacht club at the Mediterranean harbour of Gandia in the province of Valencia. The club offers dinghy sailing, cruising, rowing, competitive sailing and sport fishing, with year-round courses for children and adults with no prior experience required. Facilities include berths from 6 to 30 metres, 24-hour marina service, a hardstanding area, sports schools, parking, CCTV, water and electricity on the pontoons, a fuel station, showers and Wi-Fi; the gym and pool are temporarily unavailable. The rowing section has existed since 1992 with school, leisure and competition programmes and has achieved numerous national titles. The club organises cruiser regattas and publicly campaigns to recover the port concession; the president is David González.
History
Real Club Náutico de Gandia (RCNG) is the long-established yacht club at Gandia's recreational marina on Spain's Mediterranean coast. According to president David González, the club operated the harbour facilities for about 70 years. In 1992 the club founded its rowing section focused on school, leisure and competition; competitively it finished first eight times, second six times and third nine times in Banco Fijo leagues, plus five Spanish championships/Copa de España titles, five silvers and 15 bronzes. Since 1994 it has hosted a league race, using the enclosed harbour for close spectator viewing. In recent years the fight for the port concession has dominated: after the Valencia Port Authority selected Alcara Infraestructuras (now Nueva Marina de Gandía), the club had to vacate the facilities and members have campaigned to regain the concession. The website was relaunched as a news portal in early 2025. The club publicly documents administrative disputes, transparency complaints and the contentious-administrative appeal against the APV admitted on 16 December 2024.
