History

Middelfart Sejlklub (MS) is based in Middelfart Municipality and affiliated with the Danish Sailing Association under the National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark. The club’s purpose is to promote sailing in youth, racing and cruising. Since the 2009 season the former dinghy section and youth section have been merged into a joint youth and dinghy department; the club holds the Danish Sailing Association title “Youth-friendly sailing club”. The club vision was adopted by the general assembly in February 2018 and aims for a significant role in the Triangle Region with innovative cruising and racing events and close cooperation with MRD, the Danish Sailing League and the Danish Sailing Association. The current statutes date from 22 April 2021. The club hosts major championships, including a Danish Championship for Folkboats and Wayfarer, and maintains traditions such as Blue Week and Brandsø Rundt. Cruising, Wednesday racing and distance sailing around Fænø take place in the Middelfart/Little Belt area.
