Magdeburger Yacht-Club e.V.

The Magdeburger Yacht-Club e.V. is a traditional sailing club in Magdeburg, founded in 1878, and thus among the oldest yacht clubs in the region. The club fosters sailing especially through racing and cruising under sail and under power, as well as the care of maritime traditions. Events such as the Magdeburg Skippers' Dinner and club evenings, including talks on the restoration of the cruising yacht Stella, shape club life. The Domfelsenpokal of the Magdeburger Yacht Club documents active participation in racing. The board and members meet among other places at the MSV clubhouse and keep the long club tradition alive.

History

The Magdeburger Yacht-Club e.V. was founded in 1878 and thus looks back on more than 140 years of history. Since its founding, fostering sailing has been the club's central task, especially through racing and cruising under sail and under power. Caring for maritime traditions is likewise part of the club's identity. The Domfelsenpokal of the Magdeburger Yacht Club documents long-standing participation in regional racing; results are published by the club. Today the club organises, alongside sporting activity, social events such as the Magdeburg Skippers' Dinner with talks on timber rafting on the Elbe, as well as club evenings, for example on the restoration of the cruising yacht Stella. The club is registered at the Stendal local court under VR no. 10869 and is based at Seumestraße 4 in Magdeburg.
