Motala Segelklubb
Motala Segelklubb is a traditional sailing club in Motala on Lake VĂ€ttern in Sweden, founded on 25 May 1895. The club is based in Tegelviken at BiskopsvĂ€gen 55 and has a clubhouse as well as club premises for association activities. On site the club also runs a motorhome pitch with drop-in spaces and electricity. The sporting programme includes club and championship racing, guest sailing, squadron cruises and the Ludvig Ohlin memorial regatta. The J/80 class is active in the club, which also runs its own cup series. With more than 130 years of history, Motala Segelklubb is among the long-established sailing clubs in Ăstergötland.
History
Motala Segelklubb was founded on 25 May 1895 and is one of the older sailing clubs in the region. The association holds registration number 13453-32 and organisation number 802438-1975; the bankgiro is 205-1290. The postal address is Box 5035, 59105 Motala, and the visiting address is BiskopsvÀgen 55, 59173 Motala, in the Tegelviken area. The club maintains a clubhouse (MSK klubbhus) and club premises and uses the waters at Tegelviken for club and guest sailing. On site Motala Segelklubb operates a motorhome pitch open from 22 May to 6 September 2026, with 36 drop-in spaces and electricity (6A) at 260 kronor per night; bookings go to husbil@motalasegelklubb.se. The racing programme features club regattas, a cup series and championship sailing: in 2026 Jakob Wikström won the first race on 21 May in his J/80 and the overall cup series. The calendar also includes squadron sailing to IgelbÀcken, guest sailing at Tegelviken, the Ludvig Ohlin memorial race at the clubhouse, and regional events such as Visingsö runt, Grevskapsregattan and Rökna runt. Members are invited each year to the spring meeting (VÄrmöte), most recently for 7 May 2026.
