History

Långedrags Segelsällskap (formerly LSS, now LDSS) was founded in 1923 in Långedrag to bring the small working boats of the area together for organised racing. The first chairman was Alfon Eriksson. In the 1920s the club commissioned yard owner Hjalmar Olsson of Arendalsvarvet to design a modernised julle to club building rules, which became the well-known Långedragsjulle. Over the decades the club became a fixture of Gothenburg sailing. Today LDSS operates a clubhouse at Solhöjdsgatan 16, a certified sailing school with Optimist and Feva programmes, and regular keelboat and dinghy regattas in Långedrag.
