Lommabuktens Seglarklubb (LBS)
Lommabuktens Seglarklubb (LBS) is a large Swedish sailing and boat club based in Lomma harbour on the Öresund. With around 1,000 members and some 450 berths, the club is among Sweden’s more active boat and racing clubs and offers year-round programmes on the water and ashore for all ages. Facilities include pontoons and guest berths, a clubhouse, youth sailing with an Optimist sailing school, plus training and racing for dinghies and keelboats. Regular club racing often on Thursdays, larger distance races such as Flaket Runt, nautical courses and winter activities shape club life. Founded in 1946, LBS upholds a long tradition on Lommabukten and marks eighty years of boat life in 2026.
History
Lommabuktens Seglarklubb (LBS) was founded in 1946 and thus looks back on eighty years of boat life on Lommabukten (1946–2026). The club is based in Lomma harbour on the Öresund and has grown into one of Sweden’s larger and more active boat and racing associations. Today LBS has around 1,000 members and about 450 berths as well as facilities for guests and club operations in the harbour. For the 70th anniversary (2016) and 75+ years (2022) the club organised festival weekends, jubilee races and clubhouse events; in 2026 the LBS 80 jubilee celebration takes place. Alongside club racing and distance races such as Flaket Runt, the club expands youth and dinghy work with sailing school, Optimist training and camps and offers nautical courses for members and non-members.
